Republique is located in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, California. The owners are Chefs Walter and Margarita Manzke who have opened many successful restaurants over the years from Carmel, California to Downtown Los Angeles.
Walter was born and raised in San Diego and developed a passion for fresh vegetables tending his family garden. He studied under some of the most famous chefs in the world. They opened Republique in 2014 and were so excited to celebrate the restaurants five-year anniversary in December of 2019.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Margarita got her start early working in the family restaurant near Manila. She went to Le Cordon Blue in London and then attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York. She moved to Carmel in 2002 where she met Walter.
Each of their restaurants have been a huge success and they have a very strong following. Their star rating is four-point-six with well over three thousand three hundred positive evaluations on the world wide web.
Duidough Café & Cookie Lab is the creation of David, also known as Duido. It is located in the heart of Hollywood right near the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is famous for its two thousand six hundred plus stars with names of directors, fictional characters, producers, musicians, actors and more.
Duido grew up reading cookbooks and helping his mother in their kitchen. He dreamed of creating memories with his friends and family and did so with his own chocolate chip cookie dough recipe he created when he was six years old. From kindergarten through college he was always making chocolate chip cookies and banana bread.
Prior to opening Duidough Café & Cookie Lab, Duido was baking his breads and cookies for wholesale accounts. One day he got the opportunity to open a brick and mortar café and he pounced on it. He may have only seventy-five reviews online, but they give him close to a five-star rating.
Mary & Robbs’s Westwood Café is located on 1453 Westwood Boulevard. There is no mention of when it opened, however, the current owner bought the place in August of 1979. David Hekmat was enjoying a meal with a friend when the owner came over to talk to the friend. He mentioned he wanted to sell the place and well, the rest is history.
Mary & Robb’s Westwood Café reminded David of his days in college at New York University. The ambience was that of natural red wood and high ceilings.
This family-style restaurant can honestly say they have had employees who have worked for them for over twenty ears. He has customers that used to come in with their parents and now are coming in with their kids. They have close to four hundred positive posts on the internet with a four-plus-star rating.
Serving the greater Los Angeles, California community for years is Los Angeles Hood Cleaning. They train their hood cleaners to the National Fire Protection Associations (NFPA) standards. NFPA has guidelines on how often a commercial kitchen should have their hood cleaned and it depends on the type of fuel used while cooking and the number of hours the hood is used. Some may need to be cleaned at least once a month while others can go for a year.
